Person-Centered Therapy

According to The Universal Treatment Curriculum for Substance Use Disorders (UTC), Person Centered Therapy is “an approach to counseling through which the client directs the treatment process because they are capable of invoking change within themselves”. The person has the mental will and strength to be aware of their mental state and know how they can better it. The counselor/therapist acts as a guide to help them as they discover, learn and improve themselves.
